In recent years, there has been a growing need to understand the wide variety of metabolic abnormalities among HIV-infected individuals treated with long-term HAART regimens. As our knowledge of drug-related toxicity continues to expand, the medical and scientific community continues to translate these findings into practical clinical applications for the benefit of HIV-infected individuals.
