Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstract submission is now closed!
The abstract submission closed on March 15, 2003.

At the beginning of May, you will receive notification of whether your abstract has been accepted or not by the scientific programme committee. .

Pre-registrations
Please pre-register before submitting the Abstract (no fee required.)
If you do not wish to pay before notification of whether your abstract has been accepted, choose the option bank transfer and carry out your bank transfer only upon confirmation of abstract acceptance.

Scholarships
Applicants for Scholarships are required to submit an abstract and should:

1. Register on this website (no fee required).
2. Submit their abstract on this website
3. Download and complete the Scholarship
Application Form
4. Return it to the Conference Secretariat,
before February 15, 2003 by post or courier.

Applicants for International Awards who want to submit an abstract should follow the same procedure.

Submission deadlines
Submission of abstracts: March 15, 2003
 
Submission of Late Breakers: June 7, 2003

Internet Submission
The Conference organizers strongly encourage the electronic submission of abstracts. Please read the guidelines, then click here, Late breakers Submission, and follow the instructions.

Submission on diskette
Faxed abstracts will not be considered. Should you not have an internet connection, please submit your abstract on a diskette and send it together with the Abstract Form for Diskette Submission Only, by ordinary mail or courier to:

Rule of Two
Each registrant may serve as presenting author
on no more than two abstracts

Acceptance
Contents of submitted abstracts should not have been published or submitted for presentation to any national or international meeting before the 2nd IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis and Treatment.
 
Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Programme Committee who will make the final decision on their acceptance and
selection for oral or poster presentation.
 
Only presenting authors will be notified of the decision regarding the acceptance of their abstracts via e-mail in May 2003.
 
If accepted, the abstract will be published in its full form in the Abstract Book, on Compact Disc, and on the Conference website.

Content of abstracts
Abstracts must be written in English.
 
Abstracts must contain a concise description of
· the purpose of the study,
· the experimental method used,
· a summary of results and conclusions reached.

Unusual scientific names must be given in full the first time they appear.
Abbreviations may follow. Do not include tables or graphics in your abstract.

Presentation of abstracts 

· Capitalize the title, Times 12, Bold
· Author's name(s) in lower case except initials
· Underline the presenting author's name only
· Institution, city and country in lower case, Times 12,
  Italics
· The abstract body should not exceed 2,000
  characters (250 words : for easy counting, please select Tools in your computer toolbar and click on Statistics), Times 12
